2024 BECE Subjects Choice: Prioritize Local Languages – Dr. Nana Anima Wiafe-Akenten Urges GES1 min read
According to hints from the Ghana Education Service (GES), BECE candidates from 2024 will only write five subjects instead of the customary nine, making French, Arabic, and Ghanaian languages elective.
Stakeholders are not entirely in agreement with this decision. Many people are curious as to how that will be achievable.
The Ghanaian languages should be given priority by the GES, according to Dr. Nana Anima Wiafe-Akenten, a Lecturer and the Founder of the Kasa Tumi Language Watch Foundation.
She noted that the decision will be concerning because mother tongues contribute to culture while speaking on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Time FM 97.7MHz.
