2024 Budget: Bring Back Road Toll, Scrap 1% COVID-19 Levy – GUTA To Gov’t1 min read
The Ghana Union of Traders Association(GUTA) is urging the government to reintroduce the collection of road tolls across the country in its 2024 budget scheduled to be presented to Parliament on Wednesday.
GUTA wants the government to digitize the road toll collection.
The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, is set to present the government’s budget and economic policy to Parliament today, November 15, 2023.
In an interview with Nana Kwabena Ampratwum on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Time FM, the 1st Vice Chairman of GUTA, Clement Boateng appealed to the government to scrap the 1% COVID-19 levy.
Mr Boateng further urged the government to reduce the 22 taxes and levies at the various ports and harbours.
