3,919 Aspirants To Contest District Assembly Election In Ashanti Region – EC1 min read
A total of 3,919 candidates will contest for the Assembly members election in Ashanti Region slated for December 19, 2023, Mr Benjamin Bannor, Ashanti Regional Electoral Commission boss has revealed.
According to Mr. Bannor, out of the total number, 94.6% are males and 5.4% are females.
Speaking on the Ama Ghana Morning Show, he further revealed that 9,195 candidates are vying for Unit Committee members’ positions giving the breakdown as 89.95% and 10.1% representing males and females respectively.
He said the Commission has put frantic measures in place to ensure free and fair elections.
Mr Bannor noted that the Commission has liaised with the Police to ensure tight security on the election day.
