The committee was inaugurated ahead of the 7,000 ECKANKAR religious fellows visiting Ghana for tourism and soul adventure from August 25th – 27th 2023.

The committee chaired by the Director of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) GTA, Betty A. Kobi, will ensure the safety and well-being of the ECKANKAR fellows with the support of the security agencies.

She said safety and security are vital to quality tourism. “The success of Ghana’s economic blossoming will be due to the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) providing safety to its tourists who visit our country for site seeing.

Tourism destination success depends on providing a safe and secure environment for visitors.”

“With 7,000 visitors expected to tour our country, we will work with all stakeholders in the tourism value chain to ensure our guests get the most memorable experience,” she added.

Chief Executive Office, GTA, Akwasi Agyeman in his statement emphasized the authority’s readiness to provide the highest level of experience to the religious group for the conference.

“As an authority, we make sure that at every opportunity with foreigners, we provide them with the best treatment to sell Ghana outside.  Our team is always ready to work with the committee and any other relevant stakeholders to ensure our visitors are safe, he said.

The ECKANKAR Coordinator, David Olaga, on his part, acknowledged the readiness of the tourism authority and its partnering agencies for the support given to the conference.

He also pledged to ensure that the members who will be traveling from America, Europe, Asia, and other African countries to Ghana for the conference follow the necessary laid-down rules and regulations as proposed by the committee.
