People living in buildings without fire extinguishers are likely to be ejected by fire a Public Relations Officer at GNFS -Ashanti Command ,ADOII Daniel Antwi announces.
ADOII Daniel Antwi said plans are underway to make it mandatory for every house to have a fire extinguisher.
Appearing on Ama Ghana Morning Show on Time FM, he indicated that the law might be implemented before the end of the year.
He appealed to traders to have fire extinguishers and certificates in their shops.
“Before you get the certificate we make sure you meet our requirements. We will check if you have fire fighting equipment, a warning and detection system and escape routes. If you don’t meet the requirements you will not be given the certificate,” he said.
ADOII Daniel Antwi told the host, Kwame Koranteng that the L. I 1724 makes it mandatory for every public premises to have a fire certificate.
He said, businesses can be closed if it doesn’t have a fire certificate.
