Corruption, Theft & Arrogance Are Akufo-Addo’s Administration Norm – Mahama Jabs1 min read
Former President and the National Democratic Congress(NDC) Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama has taken a swipe at the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration.
According to John Mahama, arrogance has become the prime character of the Akufo-Addo regime.
Speaking at the 10th Commemorative Lecture of the late President, John Evans Atta Mills at KNUST, he said ostentation has become the hallmark of the government appointees.
He insinuated that corruption and theft have become the new norm under the current government.
John Mahama stated that impurity has enveloped the country adding public officials carry themselves as if they own the country.
“If you look at what is happening in our country, they are completely contrary to the attributes Atta Mills extolls,” he said.
Paying tribute to the late former President, John Mahama said, Atta Mills was a man of integrity and a modest man.
“He was humble and respected everybody. He treated everybody as a human being. He was a man of peace.”
“Atta Mills believed in state institutions and strengthening state institutions so he did not interfere in the work of state institutions,” he affirmed.
John Mahama underscored that Atta Mills didn’t weaponize justice.
Prof. John Evans Atta Mills died on 24th July 2012. It’s been 11 years since his demise.
A host of NDC executives were present at the Commemorative Lectures. They included Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, Fiifi Kwettey, Betty Mould Iddrisu, Alex Segbefia, and Joyce Bawa Mugtari.
Others were the son of the Late President, Kofi Atta Mills, Samuel Atta Mills, Totobi Kwaakye, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, Augustus Nana Akwasi, and Kwamena Ahwoi.
Professor P. L. O. Lumumba,the former Director of the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission was the guest of honour.
