Former President John Dramani Mahama has noted that unemployment in Ghana is at its highest in history at the moment.

Mr Mahama said these in a speech he delivered at the graduation ceremony of the Academic City University College over the weekend.
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the graduating students that “We left the university gates and walked into ready jobs waiting for us. There was automatic posting if you wanted to go into teaching. Many of us were retained and absorbed into workplaces where we had been posted for National Service.
“Our colleagues who made first class were quickly snapped up by prestigious banks and private corporations like UAC, Lever Brothers, now Unilever, and Standard Chartered Bank as management trainees.
In a quick reaction on Time FM Midday News, Deputy National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Jennifer Oforiwaa Prempeh, widely known as Jennifer Queen urged Ghanaians to discard the chastisement of Mr Mahama saying he is speaking out of bitterness.
She indicated that the legacy of the former President is still fresh in the minds of Ghanaians stressing that Mr. Mahama has become desperate and too expectant adding that the lies will not take him anywhere.
“You see, you can’t lie simply because you want power. The NPP government has created over 2 million jobs for the youth in the past six years despite the outbreak of COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war”, she fumed.
