Armed police have been called in to enforce a court order and remove squatters from land owned by the Ghana Airport Company Limited in the Sepe area of Asokore Mampong.

The affected squatters include truck drivers, mechanics, and individuals who have constructed temporary structures, such as churches, on the property.

Since February, notices posted around the site have instructed the squatters to vacate the premises. Many of the displaced individuals, including families with children, are now facing difficulties as the demolition process continues.

The land being cleared is situated near the Agenda 111 Hospital project site for the Asokore Mampong Municipality. Bailiffs, with police assistance, are overseeing the removal of squatters’ belongings.

Assembly Member for the Sepe Timpom Electoral Area, Awudu Abubakar Yakayaka, noted that local opinion leaders were not consulted or involved in the execution of the court order.
