NDC Takes Legal Action to Block EC from Printing Amenfi Central Ballots<span class="wtr-time-wrap after-title"><span class="wtr-time-number">1</span> min read</span>

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially requested a court injunction to prevent the Electoral Commission (EC) from printing parliamentary ballot papers and polling notices for the Amenfi Central constituency.

This legal move comes in response to the recent disqualification of their candidate, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, by the EC.

Cudjoe’s disqualification is tied to an interlocutory injunction from the Sekondi High Court, which bars the EC from recognizing her as the NDC’s candidate for the upcoming December 7 elections.

The injunction is related to an unresolved lawsuit regarding her eligibility, effectively sidelining her from the parliamentary race.

The NDC contends that the EC’s actions to print ballot materials without addressing these legal challenges would violate due process and infringe on their candidate’s rights. They are seeking a court order to halt any printing or distribution of ballot materials for Amenfi Central until the disqualification issues are fully resolved.

This situation adds another layer of complexity to the NDC’s campaign efforts in the constituency as election day draws near.
