A New Dawn for Ghana: Unite Against Galamsey and Restore Integrity – Kwabena Agyepong1 min read
When I spoke about the menace of Galamsey a couple of years ago, nobody was interested and I didn’t hear any of the latter day champions supporting my call for a moratorium on surface mining. Why is that all of a sudden with about 60 days to a crucial election they’re now talking about a collective voice, action and threatening chaos in the heat of a campaign.
All the unions, clergy and CSOs turned a blind eye to the open encouragement of illegal mining by NDC leaders including Mahama himself in the lead up to the 2020 elections.
The Npp lost most of the mining areas as a result. Organized labor, the clergy and Civil Society should be the neutral arbiter and not pandering to the whims of the opposition.
Personally I am hanging in there hopefully we retain power and help force the transformation of our beloved country from within my party. My interest is the betterment of Ghana.
Good system of roads, hospitals and employment , anything else is a bonus.
Those who allow their personal interests to overide the national interests are plain evil and greedy. We need to usher in a NEW DAWN by restoring our cherished values of SERVICE SACRIFICE AND SELFLESSNESS back into our body politic.
There are only two viable vehicles available for the foreseeable future. I’m convinced Bawumia has a fantastic opportunity to chart a new path for Ghana that’s why I am backing him despite our shortcomings I trust his commitment to transforming our society is far more profound and superior to our opponents.
Enjoy the rest of your evening cheers KAA
