Accra: Building Collapses On Firefighters At Westland<span class="wtr-time-wrap after-title"><span class="wtr-time-number">1</span> min read</span>

 

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has announced the collapse of a building on firefighters during a fire incident at Westland in West Legon.

According to the GNFS, the incident occurred when the fire service personnel tried to douse a fierce fire on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

This was contained in a press statement signed and released by the Director of Public Relations of GNFS, Timothy Osafo-Affum on Thursday, January 25.

The statement revealed that four of the firefighters were injured in the process. Two of them were in a critical condition at the University of Ghana Medical Centre and referred to the Medifem hospital, currently responding to treatment.

The other two officers also suffered minor injuries but were treated and have been discharged.

GNFS in the statement further said that they have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the collapsed building.
