27-Year-Old lady, Victoria Dapaah aka Maadwoa, who was shot and killed by her boyfriend, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi aka Tycoon has finally been laid to rest.

Maadwoa was laid in-state at Adum for her relatives and loved ones to pay their last respect amidst brass band, printed Maadwoa’s T-shirt.

It was a bleak scene which unfurled at Adum as late Maadwoa’s relatives and loved ones could not hold their tears.

Her 3-year-old daughter only known as ‘Agudie’ literary means ‘Jewels” was the centre of attraction as she cried uncontrollably after she saw her mother’s remains.

The lifeless body of Maadwoa was carried to where the gruesome incident occurred for a one-minute silence observation.

Following threats by relatives and friends to deal ruthlessly with the police, no police presence was witnessed.

Background

Tycoon shot his alleged girlfriend, Maadwoa now deceased 6 times, on Thursday night (April 20, 2023) at Adum-Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.

In his first appearance at the Asokore Mampong District Court for a committal proceeding, Tycoon admitted to killing her lover because of Ghc5,000 debt.

He was charged with murder and was remanded into prison custody in his second appearance at the Asokore Mampong District Court on May 30, 2023.

But fast forward, on 20th June 2023, Inspector Twumasi pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder when he reappeared at the court for the committal proceedings. He refused to answer questions without his Lawyer.

Tycoon’s U-turn infuriated the relatives and loved ones of Maadwoa which made them go haywire.

The police needed reinforcement to escort Inspector Twumasi from the court premises after the furious sympathizers of late Maadwoa went berserk.

A section of them pelted stones at the police vehicle conveying Inspector Twumasi damaging some parts of the vehicle.

Inspector Twumasi will reappear before the Kumasi High Court on 13th July 2023 to stand full trial.
