In the ongoing trial involving Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and Richard Jakpa regarding the ambulance procurement, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched a fierce attack on Attorney General Godfred Dame.

Former Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, views this as a strategic move by the NDC in preparation for the upcoming 2024 elections.

“The relentless attack on Godfred Dame by the NDC is a do-or-die rehearsal for the 2024 general elections.”

In an interview with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese, Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen asserted that Godfred Dame is innocent in the ambulance case.

He said the NDC has gone to great lengths, even releasing a tape purportedly showing the Attorney General influencing a witness to implicate Ato Forson.

Having listened to the leaked 16-minute audio, Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen confidently stated that Godfred Dame did not commit any wrongdoing therein.

He expressed strong opposition to the inclusion of the leaked audio in the defense strategy of the NDC, stating that it’s unacceptable to record conversations with someone who trusts you.

Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen emphasized a contrast between how the NPP handles such situations, suggesting that while the NPP focuses on individual accountability, the NDC seems to involve the entire party in the trial of its members.

He predicted disappointment and embarrassment for those involved in orchestrating the meeting between Richard Jakpa and Godfred Dame.

He criticized the act of recording private conversations, emphasizing the importance of sincerity in such matters.

“It’s quiet unacceptable and unreasonable for someone to develop faith in you and record him when having conversation with him. We must be sincere to ourselves. It is not good,” he fumed
