Apostle Nyamekye Re-elected Chairman Of The Church Of Pentecost1 min read
Apostle Nyamekye received a whopping 99.45 percent ‘Yes’ votes to retain his position.
The elections were held at the Church’s 46th General Council Meetings held at the Pentecost Convention Center in the Central Region.
Five years ago, precisely Thursday, May 3, 2018, Apostle Nyamekye, then Area Head of the Church of Pentecost in Koforidua, was elected to succeed Apostle Prof Opoku Onyinah. He became the 6th head of the Church.
The results of Thursday’s votes proved that Apostle Nyamekye has won the hearts of the conclave.
He polled 1,255 ‘Yes’ votes out of a total of 1,262 on Thursday. He had garnered 994 ‘Yes’ votes out of a total of 1009 five years ago.
Meanwhile, at the same Council Meetings, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi was also elected the General Secretary of the Church.
He replaces Apostle Kumi Larbi, who served for 10 years in the role.
Apostle Obuobi, 53, polled 1,256 ‘Yes’ votes out of a total of 1,262, representing 99.6 percent.
He will serve for the next five years.
