Asokwa MP Presents Toyota Hilux Vehicle To Asokwa NHIA for Operations2 min read
The Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Madam Patricia Appiagyei has handed over a brand new Toyota Hilux Vehicle to the Asokwa District Directorate of the National Health Insurance Authority(NHIA) for its operations.
Presenting the vehicle at the precincts of the Asokwa Municipal Assembly Offices, Madam Appiagyei said the Municipality was growing and therefore departments under it must be equipped with vehicles and other needful equipment to make their work smoother.
She noted that health was an important aspect of life and therefore any support to outfits that facilitate the well-being and welfare of citizens must be supported to carry out their mandates.
“Health Insurance has become crucial when one wants to access care at the hospital and therefore I decided to lobby for this vehicle from the hard working and considerate CEO of the NHIA, Dr Alfred Okoe Boye and I am happy to present this to Asokwa NHIS Directorate to enable it carry out its operations seamlessly”, Madam Appiagyei stated.

Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the MCE for Asokwa, Mr Twene Kwabena Donkor, Principal Development Planning Officer for Asokwa Municipal Assembly thanked the MP for the gesture.
He commended Madam Appiagyei for continuously lobbying for projects and equipment for the Municipality.
Mr Donkor promised that the Assembly would keep an eye on the usage of the vehicle by the Asokwa NHIS office.
“In Ghana 🇬🇭 our maintenance culture has been low but we as an Assembly are committed to ensuring that whatever equipment we have is first put into good use and secondly maintained regularly to last long for us and that is exactly what we would do”, Mr Donkor noted.

Papa Yaw Asare Bediako John, Asokwa District Manager for the NHIS thanked the Asokwa MP for lobbying for the Directorate.
He also commended the CEO of his outfit for speedily releasing the vehicle to the directorate to facilitate their operations of ensuring that every person in Asokwa who has attained the age to be on the NHIS is captured by 2030.
The Manager disclosed that the Municipal Assembly through the efforts of the MCE and the MP has allocated a parcel of land close to the Asokwa Police Station to commence the construction of a modern office complex for use by the Asokwa Directorate of NHIA.
“We are grateful for this gesture by our CEO through our MP, Madam Patricia Appiagyei and we are also thankful to the MCE for Asokwa for releasing a parcel of land near the Police station to help us construct a modern edifice befitting our status and I am glad that in six months time you would come to see our new vehicle at our new office complex”, the Manager stated.
