Banning ‘Pragya, Aboboyaa’ Operation Will Produce Armed Robbers In The System – NRSA PRO1 min read
Public Relations Officer for National Road Safety Authority, Pearl Adusu Sateckla says if tricycles are banned from commercial operation, it will breed armed robbers.
According to Adusu Sateckla: “some of the riders of the pragya have lost their jobs, some have completed school but are not employed and for that matter have engaged in the tricycle business to survive.
She told Kwame Koranteng on the Tuesday edition of Ama Ghana Morning Show that the tricycles have not been registered as commercial transport.
“The conversation of stopping Pragya from operating goes beyond Road Safety. It’s National policy. There should be a political will to govern the use of the pragya,” she noted.
Adusu Sateckla said the NRSA has engaged the police to train the riders on how to operate the tricycles.
She revealed that they alert the police to apprehend the minors who are sited in the act.
