Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s initiative to roll out electric buses in Ghana is poised to transform the transportation landscape and bring substantial savings for commuters.

Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), revealed that these buses, currently en route, are expected to reduce transportation costs by an impressive 40%.

This launch supports the government’s commitment to sustainable transport solutions, tackling traffic congestion and pollution head-on.

Nkansah noted that the electric buses will enhance public transport efficiency while promoting a cleaner, greener urban environment.

Beyond cost savings, passengers can look forward to a more enjoyable commuting experience with modern features and reduced noise levels compared to traditional diesel buses.

“Dr. Bawumia’s electric buses will arrive by the end of this month. With no fuel costs and low maintenance, public transport fares will decrease by about 40%,” he added.
