BECE: Education Ministry Blames Invigilators Over Malpractices1 min read
The Ministry of Education has channeled the blame of examination malpractices in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to invigilators.
Speaking on Time FM’s Ama Ghana Morning Show in Kumasi, Deputy Public Relations Officer for the Ministry, Ernest Akosa said a lot of things go into the conduct of the BECE.
According to him, there are dos and donts governing the examination.
Ernest Akosa noted that WAEC officials move from one examination centre to the other and for that if cheating transpires, the head of the invigilators must be notified.
He said the total number of scripts WAEC is scrutinizing in the 2023 BECE is not outrageous.
The examination council in the release of the provisional results said it is scrutinizing scripts of 22,270 candidates over suspected mass cheating.
