The Archdiocese of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of the Catholic church has ordained seven Priests and two other Deacons to help in the work of God.

The ordination took place at Nerebehi Parish in the Nyinahini Deanery of the Kumasi Archdiocese on July 15,2023.

The main reason for the program is to welcome the various Priests to help spread the word of God.

Speaking at the occasion, Most Rev Gabriel Justice Yaw Anokye, the Archbishop of the Diocese told the ordained reverend fathers and deacons to make sure their work pleases God and not mankind.

The Archbishop added that as they go out to perform their work as priests and deacons, they should be humbled and also know that God chose them for a purpose.

He further advised that they should allow God to use them in their work but should not depend on their knowledge, and also advised them to have faith in God that through prayers the Lord will strengthen and anoint them.

On the other hand, the Archbishop told the congregation to support the ordained reverend fathers and deacons with everything to make their work easy in order to help spread the word of God.

He further used the opportunity to sound a word of caution to congregants who speak ill of their priests to desist from that saying, some of them even go to the extent of using the media to put the image of their priests into disrespect.

Some of the ordained priests also expressed their gratitude to God almighty, the mother church as whole and the Archbishop for such a wonderful  occasion which sees them to the beginning of new life.

They advised and at the same time encouraged their brothers who are currently at the various seminaries across the world, studying to become priests to be focused and persevered.
