A lecturer at the Department of Planning at the KNUST, Dr Prince Anokye has advised the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly(KMA) to regulate Pragya riders.

City authorities in Kumasi, Ghana’s second-largest city, have imposed a ban on rickshaw and tricycle businesses, also known as ‘Pragya’ and ‘Aboboyaa’ within the confines of the Central Business District.

Six policemen were injured in Kumasi on Monday as a result of a scuffle between them and tricycle operators.

According to Dr. Anokye who appeared on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Time FM, the pragya has high demand due to the transport deficit in the metropolis so they should be trained and regulated fuming they can’t do what they want.
