The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged Ghanaians to celebrate the yuletide safely and responsibly.
Akufo-Addo said those who are hungry should be fed and those in need of comfort must be comforted.
In his 2023 Christmas and New Year message to Ghanaians he said Christmas brings gladness to the heart of Christians.
“Christmas brings an opportunity to reaffirm our faith and hope in the almighty God and his son Jesus Christ.”
Akufo-Addo stated that Christ was born to reconcile man to God “and as his children, it is a must to love God with all our heart, soul and mind and love our neighbours as ourselves.”
He appealed that the cardinal principles of Christianity thus charity, faith, humility, love and reconciliation should guide Ghanaians in this festive season and beyond.
