The Ashanti regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, a.k.a. Wontumi, has ordered all constituency chairmen in the region to get rid of visuals containing images of Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen and the NPP from the party’s offices.

“In view of Hon. Alan Kyerematen’s resignation from the party, all his posters, banners, flyers and paraphernalia at our party offices in all the constituencies must be removed with immediate effect,” he said in a statement Monday, September 25, 2023.

According to Wontumi, once the former Trade and Industry minister has resigned from the party, it makes it right and fair for his images to be removed.

“Once he has forfeited his membership, it is just right and fair that these items are removed from our offices,” the statement added.

Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen resigned from the party Monday, September 25, after pulling out of the presidential primary scheduled for November 4.

He said the NPP election management committee failed to initiate punitive measures after his supporters were treated unfairly at the party’s special delegates’ conference.

He also stated that the NPP has been hijacked by a selected few who are running the affairs of the party in their interest.

After his resignation, Mr. Kyerematen has formed a new movement for change with the butterfly as his logo, to contest the 2024 elections as an independent candidate.

Meanwhile, National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi has said Mr. Kyerematen is not an alternative for the mess he participated in creating.
