Compensate George Bonsu Before Getting Our Support—NPP Group.2 min read
Chairman of the Crusaders For Kennedy Agyepong Group, Nana Opoku-Agyemang has asked the second lady, Samira Bawumia to find a way and compensate one George Oti Bonsu, a sponsor of the NPP and friend of Kennedy Agyepong, the Assin Central MP for illegally pulling down the sponsor’s house in Accra.
The group’s chairman alleged that the second lady with her brother despite having knowledge of his investment, defiantly pulled down the ten (10) bedroom apartment of Mr Oti Bonsu.
The Group’s Chairman supported by about hundred persons at a press conference in Kumasi on Monday said the demolition was carried out with malicious intent since the affected person was a known sponsor of Ken Agyepong during the NPP flag-bearer contest.
“We know that the demolition of the house of George Oti Bonsu was done maliciously because he was a known supporter of Ken Agyepong and we demand that the second lady or her brother compensates the affected person before we can also unreservedly throw our support for Dr Bawumia in the upcoming elections”, the spokesperson stated.
Background of the Victim:
The group’s spokesperson said the victim, George Oti Bonsu a known businessman and sympathiser of the NPP.
The victim, the group said has been sponsoring the NPP with funds from his businesses for more than a decade now.
The spokesperson said the former Majority Leader and Suame MP, Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu could best attest to the kind gestures of the victim since he has been a beneficiary of many kindnesses during election periods.
“Everyone who matters in the scheme of the NPP and government knows about George Oti Bonsu and so it is surprising that the party stood idle and watched as his property was destroyed by persons suspected to have links with the second lady”, the spokesperson claimed.
Support:
The Group Chairman said that the only the NPP and Dr Bawumia will get their support was to ensure that the victim was compensated.
They also called for a public apology to be rendered to George Oti Bonsu in addition to the compensation they are asking for.
The group said they were inherently Kennedy Agyepong supporters and would support whoever their mentor chooses to go with.
“We are in the NPP but our choice for the leadership of the NPP is Kennedy Agyepong and even though he did not win the flag-bearer contest we are staying loyal to him and our public support of any of the candidates vying to become President would be determined by what our mentor Kennedy Agyepong chooses to side with”, the spokesperson stressed.
