“Drug Addicts Now Sniff Petrol In Addition To Cocaine, Heroin” – Narcotics Commander1 min read
Youth addicted to sniffing hard drugs like weed, glue, cocaine, heroin, and tramadol have added petrol to it.
According to the Ashanti Regional Narcotics Control Commission Commander, Samuel Yeboah who disclosed this on Ama Ghana Morning show on Time FM, the situation is alarming.
He explained that the weed is inexpensive as compared to the other substances adding that they inhale the drugs to “go high”.
The Regional Commander told the host, Kwame Koranteng that 70% of the youth who sniff the hard drugs are between the ages of 15 to 35.
“The energetic youth that can work to foster the development of our country are smoking these drugs,” he cried.
He bemoaned that the drug abuse will have a serious implication on their lives.
Mr Yeboah said the borders of Ghana are porous and alleged that some immigration officers take bribe from the importers to allow them bring drugs into the country.
