E/R: Koforidua Needs Proper Asphalt Roads–Evans Appiah Jabs New Juaben South MP1 min read
The Independent Parliamentary Candidate for New Juaben South Constituency in the Eastern Region, Evans Appiah has cautioned the Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency to stop the shoddy road construction ongoing in Koforidua and construct proper asphalt road.
According to him, asphalt pavement installation requires from demolition to scatter the debris and not just putting coal on the old road with the mindset of constructing Asphalt in Koforidua.
” I’m not happy with the manner in which the road is being constructed in Koforidua the regional capital, the contractor is not working professionally as every road construction firm is mandated and neither a good supervision by the MP.
The shoddy work is a project of causing financial loss to the state and we must not tolerate it.
“It is so pathetic. The old roads have been destroyed and there is no need for a professional contractor to put asphalt on it. The old roads should be discarded and proper ones done. I’m a contractor myself with certified documents so I know what am talking about, this is deliberate because the MP is aware how road infrastructure receives huge financial resources for expansion, rehabilitation and construction works. And this road I say will deteriorate in a short period,” he emphasized.
The ace Journalist called on the road minister to intervene immediately else it will cause a financial lost to the state.
