EC Should Disqualify Hon Alfred Obeng-Boateng From Contesting NPP Parliamentary Primaries – Prof. Kobbie Mensah1 min read
Associate Professor, Kobbie Mensah has urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to disqualify the  Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Alfred Obeng-Boateng from contesting the upcoming NPP Parliamentary primaries.
In a viral audio, the MP is heard bragging that he has enough dollars to pay delegates.
He said can pay Ghc 20,000 to the 2,200 delegates in the constituency.
In an interview on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Time FM, he said if the MP for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai is disqualified from the contest, it will serve as deterrent to others.
According to Prof. Kobbie Mensah, Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng is suitable for disqualification saying it is very shameful for the MP to make such unguarded statement.
He appealed to the NPP to call the MP for investigation if the Office of the Special Prosecutor won’t invite him.
“It is a sad situation and i expect him to understand public discourse,” he advised.
