The Electoral Commission of Ghana, the power house behind all elections in Ghana is set to begin the limited Voter registration exercise on September 12, 2023 as part of preparation for the forthcoming District Level Elections.

The exercise is to give chance to Ghanaians who are of voting age thus 18 years and above and also to afford those who have their cards missing to replace them, but at a cost. The registration according to the Chairperson of the Commission, Madam Jean Mensah, will take place at all the 268 district offices of the Commission including the Guan district.

What to Know about the Registration

The limited registration, though being kicked against by some political parties, will allow Ghanaians to partake in the District Assemblies Election which is slated for December 19, 2023. It will also give chance for missing Voter’s Card to be replaced at a fee of GHS 10.00

The requirements for the registration exercise is a valid Ghana card and a National Passport. In the absence of the two requirements, a representation by two already registered voters can vouch and guarantee for the registration to take place.

It also becomes criminal for a person to guarantee for more than ten people during this limited registration exercise. The registration process begins from 8am to 5pm every day from September 12 to October 2, 2023.
