The two African football giants Egypt and Ghana tied their second matchday with a 2-2 score, as part of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), being held in Cote d’Ivoire.

Towards the end of the first half, Egypt was forced to make a last-minute substitution because star player Mo Salah was feeling uneasy.

During the stoppage time of the first half, the Ghanaian team opened the scoring with a long shot by midfielder Mohammed Kudus, to give his team the lead.

While Egypt managed to tie the score by Omar Marmoush in the 69th minute, Ghana’s Kudus quickly replied with a second goal for his team two minutes later.

However, refusing to be defeated, Egypt held Ghana to a draw once again with striker Mostafa Mohamed scoring an equalizer.

In the first AFCON round, Egypt was held to a 2-2 draw by Mozambique. The hard-charging Mozambican team came dangerously close to defeating the seven-time African champions, but Mohamed Salah’s penalty kick saved them with a late tie.
