Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, an independent candidate in the Ejisu by-election, has expressed indifference towards the election’s outcome, emphasizing that whether he wins or loses, it will not trouble him.

The former Ejisu lawmaker stated that his motivation stems from his constituents’ calls for him to vie for the seat again, enabling him to continue his past contributions effectively.

Addressing his stance should he emerge victorious, Mr. Aduomi affirmed his commitment to serve Ghana’s interests independently, echoing his approach during his tenure in Parliament. He highlighted his willingness to support initiatives beneficial to the nation, regardless of their origin, emphasizing his track record of bipartisan cooperation.

The Electoral Commission (EC) is overseeing the by-election for the Ejisu constituency, prompted by the passing of the late Member of Parliament and Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, on March 07, 2024.

While the NPP has nominated Kwabena Boateng to uphold its position in the election, the opposition NDC has opted out of participating.

Kwabena Boateng faces stiff competition from former constituency MP, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, who is running independently after parting ways with the NPP.
