Entrepreneurs Urged To Scale Up1 min read
The Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has stressed the need for entrepreneurs in the region to build up strong business capabilities and extensive international networks in order to seize growth opportunities.
“We have reached a point where we need to scale up our region’s competitiveness through capacity building and internationalization”.
“There should be comprehensive measures to scale up production at reduced costs”.
“There is also the need for our businesses to adopt differentiated growth strategies in today’s globalized digital economy”, he added.
The Regional Minister stated this in an address he delivered at the 4th Edition of the Paa Grant Medals for Business Excellence Award Ceremony, which was held at the Best Western Plus Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi.
The event served as a platform to honour distinguished companies, businessmen and women in the Western Region on Founders’ Day 4th August, 2023.
It was also an avenue for individual entrepreneurs to build relationships with industry players, as an effective means to network for business growth.
He stressed the need to promote the local economy through joint efforts and the need for Ghanaians to patronize locally manufactured products as had always been advocated by the President, Akufo-Addo.
He commended Star Ghana Limited for the partnership with the Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC), on the initiative to create award ceremony which honours exceptional companies, businessmen and women.
