A former footballer for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, George Kennedy has tasked the government to secure sponsorship For Ghanaian clubs in order to reduce football betting.
Uncle Kennedy as he is popularly known said the government can secure the sponsors for the clubs and tax them.
According to him football betting is a canker which can’t be scrapped.
Speaking with Kwame Koranteng on the Salah Edition of Ama Ghana Morning Show on Wednesday he said some club administrators don’t have the financial capacity to run their football clubs so they venture into betting.
“If the players are not paid well they will dabble in betting. There should be a policy where the GFA and the Sports Ministry will be involved to find antidote to the betting issue,” he said.
