A former Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. Alex Kyeremeh has asked the Ghana Education Service (GES) to focus on addressing the exodus of teachers as a priority.

“GES must concentrate on the provision of teaching and learning materials to schools rather than fishing out JHS 1 and 2 students who skip class to write the Basic Education and Certificate Examination (BECE).”

Hon. Alex Kyeremeh said the move by GES is not significant describing it as unnecessary.

Speaking with Opanin Tweneboah Kodua on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Time FM, he stated the move is an abuse on the right of the students.

Hon. Alex Kyeremeh said it is not a crime for students to jump class to write BECE.
