Four Clubs Battle For Historic Win In MTN FA Cup1 min read
Dreams FC, Nsoatreman FC, King Faisal, and second-tier side Skyy FC have all overcome familiar opponents and are now targeting a historic triumph.
None of these four clubs have won a major trophy in their respective histories and are viewing the FA Cup as a chance to change that. The winners of the competition will have the rare opportunity of representing Ghana at the CAF Confederation Cup.
Dreams FC will face Skyy FC, while King Faisal will take on Nsoatreman in an all-Premier League encounter, with both matches set to be played at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Despite Dreams FC’s experience, coach Karim Zito believes winning the FA Cup would be a special feeling. Meanwhile, Skyy FC coach Christian Lokko is unfazed by facing a top-flight club, vowing to win the trophy at all costs.
King Faisal coach Godwin Ablordey and Nsoatreman gaffer Abubakri Mumuni are also optimistic about their chances of success.
Strangely, all three Premier League clubs are struggling to avoid relegation, while Skyy FC are currently seven points behind the Premier League promotion spot in Division One League Zone II with four games remaining.
Although all four clubs are not financially strong, they have assured fans that they will do everything possible to represent Ghana well should they win the competition.
