Ghanaian Kobbie Mainoo Named Man United Young Player Of The Year1 min read
Kobbie Boateng Mainoo has been honoured with the prestigious Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award after an impressive season with Manchester United.
The young midfielder received the award at Old Trafford in front of a packed crowd just before Manchester United’s impressive 4-1 victory over Chelsea in the Premier League on Thursday.
This award is a testament to Mainoo’s exceptional talent and potential within United’s esteemed youth team.
As he sets his sights on impressing manager Erik Ten Hag during the upcoming pre-season, Mainoo is determined to seize the opportunity to showcase his skills.
However, it is widely speculated that a loan move could be the most viable option for Mainoo to secure regular playing time in the first team. This strategic move would contribute to his ongoing development and growth as a player.
Mainoo was born in Stockport to Ghanaian parents and has represented England at U-17, U-18 and U-19 respectively.
The 18-year-old signed his first professional in May last year, but has yet to make an appearance for Manchester United’s first team.
