Ghanaians Are Facing the Fallout from Their 2016 Vote – Mahama1 min read
John Dramani Mahama, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader, has made a bold claim that the difficulties currently confronting Ghanaians stem from their choices in the 2016 elections.
During a recent two-day visit to the Savannah Region, Mahama accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of coming to power through misleading promises, resulting in the hardships many Ghanaians endure today.
While touring key areas like Daboya, Mankargu, and Lingbinshi, he urged voters to critically evaluate the commitments made by the NDC ahead of the upcoming December elections.
Mr. Mahama emphasized that the implications of their voting decisions will be profound, warning against repeating what he called the “2016 mistake” of supporting the NPP.
He highlighted several unfulfilled pledges from the current government, framing them as a betrayal of public trust.
Additionally, he criticized the administration for neglecting pressing issues such as soaring youth unemployment and growing economic challenges, which he argued have led the country to the brink of financial crisis.
