God Not Your Village Chief – Muntaka Hits Back At Detractors1 min read
Re-elected Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asawase Constituency Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak has slammed the motive behind the changes in the leadership of the Minority early this year.
He suspects being targeted by the changes said to have been masterminded by the then newly elected national executives.
He was replaced as Minority Chief Whip by Governs Kwame Agbodza while the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, and Deputy Minority Leader, Dr James Klutse Avedzi, were replaced by Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson and Emmanuel Armah-Buah respectively.
“I can tell you it was part of the strategy to get me out,” the Asawase MP told journalists a day after he clinched victory in NDC’s primaries on Saturday, May 13.
“No political person who is mature will not say that was part of the strategy to get me out.”
He further justified his suspicion by indicating that while Haruna Iddrisu was going unopposed in Tamale South, Dr Avedzi was no longer standing for re-election.
