“I Have Smoked Weed Twice In My Life, I Didn’t Enjoy It” – Okyeame Kwame2 min read
Ghanaian hiplife musician, Okyeame Kwame in a recent interview has shared his personal experience with smoking weed, emphasizing his preference for consciousness and awareness over intoxication.
The father of 2 was speaking with Joy Entertainment’s Kwame Dadzie when he revealed that he had tried smoking weed only twice in his life, and on both occasions, he found the experience unpleasant.
Okyeame Kwame’s commitment to being present at the moment and his desire to understand his surroundings and himself on a deeper level led him to reject substances that cloud his consciousness.
“I have smoked weed before; twice in my life. One, two. I didn’t enjoy it. This is me. I want to be conscious. I want to be aware. I want to know what is happening around me. I want to feel what is within me. So everything that intoxicates me I don’t like. So when I took it I became slow, and then I started hallucinating,” he said.
It is commonly assumed that individuals in the creative industry are more susceptible to indulging in habits such as smoking and drinking. However, Okyeame Kwame, breaks this stereotype by revealing that he does not take alcohol.
“I don’t drink alcohol. I have tasted alcohol before but all the alcohol I have taken in 47 years, if I should put it in one beer bottle it will be life half. I don’t drink alcohol,” Okyeame disclosed
Okyeame Kwame emphasized that he is intentional about his choices and refuses to attribute them to external influences. As a vegetarian, he has consciously chosen a lifestyle that aligns with his principles.
The Rap Dacta in his quest to maintain youthfulness and well-being also divulged that he adheres to a disciplined routine.
“My secret is first, I get my seven hours of sleep everyday, beyond that in the morning, I do intermittent fasting so when I wake up in the morning I drink my water which has lemon or lime, then I wait until 10.30am or eleven before I eat my main meal,” he noted.
Okyeame Kwame, through his choices and lifestyle is challenging certain stereotypes associated with people in the creative industry by staying true to himself and confidently promoting his brand.
