John Mahama Commends Assin North Voters For Rejecting ‘Non-performing’ NPP<span class="wtr-time-wrap after-title"><span class="wtr-time-number">1</span> min read</span>

The 2024 General Election Presidential Candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), John Mahama has praised the people of Assin North for voting against the ‘non-performing’ NPP in the 27th June, 2023 by-election.

John Mahama said the votes for justice and development by the electorate of Assin North are truly inspiring.

In a Facebook post copied to mytimefm.com John Mahama urged Ghanaians to work together to build the Ghana we all dream of.

James Gyakye Quayson, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Assin North by-election emerged victorious in Tuesday’s by-election.

At the end of the by-election on June 27, 2023, Mr. Quayson polled 17,245 votes representing 57.56 percent of the total votes cast to beat Charles Opoku of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and Bernice Enyonam Sefenu of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG).

Charles Opoku polled 12,630 votes representing 42.15 percent of the total votes cast in the hotly contested by-election while the LPG’s Bernice Enyonam Sefenu polled a paltry 87 votes (0.29%).
