Austin Gamey, Chief Executive Officer of Gamey and Gamey Group, has emphasized Ghana’s detrimental lack of economic planning.
He criticized the prevailing focus on short-term political gains, attributing it to a series of superficial projects aimed at bolstering government popularity rather than fostering sustainable development.
Mr Gamey who was speaking In an interview on Time FM’s Ama Ghana show, argued that Ghana’s neglect of comprehensive planning across short, medium, and long-term horizons has contributed to a scenario where voter support is taken for granted, irrespective of actual performance.
He lamented that the country’s fixation on political economy has hindered its progress toward a structured and effective economic strategy.
Concluding his remarks, Gamey cautioned that Ghana risks exacerbating its current challenges if it continues prioritizing political expediency over the systematic economic planning needed for sustainable growth.
