Lampard Urges Stability At Chelsea1 min read
Lampard believes that finding a new manager and allowing them the time to build a successful team is crucial for the club’s future.
“I was part of the Chelsea team that changed managers regularly,” he said to reporters.
“With casual hindsight, it’s easy to say I had great success. I won three titles, but I should have won five or six. That’s my feeling, if we had had more consistency and been able to work in one direction.”
Lampard also emphasised the importance of aligning recruitment with the manager’s vision for the team, citing the successful models of other top Premier League clubs such as Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal.
“So clearly if you want to get there, it’s something that hopefully aligns. At the moment for us, it hasn’t,” he added.
Chelsea’s season has been far from successful, as they currently find themselves closer to relegation than to securing a spot in Europe.
They will take on Arsenal in a match on Tuesday, with hopes of disrupting the Gunners’ pursuit of the championship title. Since his return to the club, Lampard been unable to secure a victory, having lost all five of the team’s previous games.
