Mahama Vindicated Over Akufo-Addo Making Fake Promises Comment – David Addo Kumi1 min read
David Addo Kumi, Executive Director of Care for Free and Fair Elections Ghana, says former President John Mahama has been vindicated regarding Akufo-Addo’s remark from 2016 prior to the General Elections about fake campaign promises.
President Akufo-Addo made a number of promises to Ghanaians in 2016, including one district- one factory, one village- one dam, one constituency, one million dollars, and more, which Kumi Addo recalled.
“Mahama’s assertion regarding Akufo-Addo’s pledges is staring us in the face. We ask ourselves, have those promises been kept? The answer is clearly no. “Mahama informed Akufo-Addo that he has never held public office and therefore does not understand the nature of governance,” he said to Nana Kwabena Ampratwum on Time FM’s Ama Ghana Morning Show on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
Kumi Addo claims that because Ghanaians are struggling and in a desperate situation, they are unable to exercise self-control and carefully evaluate the promises made by politicians.
