Recent Survey

A recent survey conducted by Research Trust Ltd, a research entity affiliated with the Danquah Institute (DI), has revealed that Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) is the preferred choice for running mate among New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives.

The survey, led by Hayford Mensah Ayerakwa, polled executives in all 16 administrative regions and 140 constituencies, gathering data from 560 constituency-level and 720 polling station-level interviews.

The results showed that 92% of respondents believe the next running mate should hail from the Ashanti Region, with NAPO leading the pack at 70%.

Other contenders, including Frema Osei Opare, Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Henry Kwabena Kokofu, trailed behind with significantly lower percentages.

The survey evaluated candidates based on popularity, marketability, grassroots understanding, and party loyalty, with NAPO scoring high across all indicators.

Research Trust Ltd emphasized the importance of choosing a running mate who can help the NPP “break the 8” in the 2024 elections, stressing that the masses’ opinions should be considered, even if they don’t directly select the running mate.

This survey aligns with another recent report by the National Investigation Bureau (NIB) that also placed NAPO in the lead for the running mate position.
