Mr Joseph Dogbe made these observations during the MTN Ghana Global Ethics Day where he elaborated that, the celebration is to reaffirm MTN’s commitment to ethics and integrity to promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.
Celebrating the Global Ethics Day on Tuesday October 22, 2024 in Accra, the event has recognised an insightful podcast engagement centred on anti-bribery and corruption.
The Global Ethics Day was celebrated under the theme, “Ethics Empowered”, and the MTN Ghana theme also focused on ” Heightening Anti-Bribery and Corruption Practices”, underscoring its readness to ethical business practices.
In a press release after the Global Ethics Day, the Ethics Podcast highlighted MTN’s comprehensive training and awareness programs targeting anti-bribery and corruption, emphasizing prevention and a steadfast zero-tolerance policy.
That not said, the podcast will complement MTN’s ongoing training and awareness initiatives on the company’s anti-bribery and corruption policy.
Panellists from various divisions within MTN Ghana and MobileMoney Limited outlined existing processes, systems and technologies that support their operations in preventing bribery and corruption. The panelists also pointed out the company’s management processes demonstrating actions MTN would take in response to any incidents of bribery and corruption aiming at achieving its zero-tolerance for unethical behaviors.
The press release also highlighted on the expectations of participants as they were pleased to report any unethical behavior through the company’s anonymous whistleblowing channel and to seek guidance from the Ethics Office.
MTN Ghana in 2023, organized activities focused on combating harassment and discrimination, while the emphasis in 2022 was on fraud prevention.
