Nana Obiri Boahen Criticizes African Nations for Mismanagement Post-Independence1 min read
Private Legal Practitioner Nana Obiri Boahen has criticized African countries for failing to effectively utilize their resources since gaining independence.
He argued that this mismanagement has hindered development across the continent.
In an interview, Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen singled out countries like Nigeria and Cameroon for their poor resource utilization.
He highlighted Ghana’s recent discovery of lithium, criticizing the decision to allow foreign entities to take a 10% share instead of fully benefiting from the resource.
Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen also mentioned that Ghana is not making use of experts like Mr Stephen Kojo Sackey, United Nations (UN) Peace Ambassador, who could significantly improve railway infrastructure from Accra to Paga.
He stressed that many African intellectuals and academics are not being utilized effectively.
Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen concluded by stating that he would stop commenting if Dr. Bawumia becomes President, as his opinions are often ignored.
