Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party’s Vice-Presidential Candidate, made a significant contribution to twenty orphanages in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday morning.

His generous donation included essential food items such as bags of rice, cooking oil, boxes of mackerel sardines, and cans of tomato paste.

Affectionately known as Dr. Napo, he also provided educational supplies, including exercise books, pencils, and pens for the children.

During a brief ceremony at Heroes Park, Kumasi Sports Stadium, Nana Timah Boakye, Deputy CEO of the Petroleum Hub, emphasized that Dr. Prempeh’s donation serves as a reminder that he has not forgotten the orphanages. She noted that 16 of the 20 institutions have regularly received support every three months from him, with the addition of four new beneficiaries this time.

Madam Ama Konadu, NPP Women’s Organizer for the Subin Constituency, expressed her gratitude for Dr. Prempeh’s initiative, particularly for selecting Subin for the distribution.

Evangelist Akwasi Donkor, a prominent radio preacher in Kumasi, offered prayers for Dr. Prempeh, urging other politicians to emulate his generosity and support those in need, especially persons with disabilities.

Representatives from the orphanages expressed their heartfelt thanks, hoping for a successful election for the NPP so that Dr. Prempeh can continue his support.

Sixteen-year-old Margaret Donkor from the Edwenase Rehabilitation Centre thanked Dr. Napo for his ongoing kindness, while twelve-year-old Kingsley Boadu from Cherub Orphanage rejoiced at the sight of the food donations.

In total, Dr. Prempeh provided 2,000 bags of 5kg rice, 2,040 liters of cooking oil, and 2,400 cans of mackerel sardines. Additionally, he donated 10,000 exercise books, along with 1,000 pencils and 1,000 pens to support the education of the children.
