Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare, Presidential Advisor on Health, has dismissed claims by NDC Presidential candidate John Mahama that he would complete the Agenda 111 hospital initiative if elected.

During appearance on the Ama Ghana Morning Show with Nana Kwabena Ampratwum, Dr. Nsiah Asare argued that Mahama and the NDC are unlikely to follow through with the project.

He pointed to the unfinished EUROGET projects from former President John Kufuor as evidence of the financial troubles the NDC left behind.

He also highlighted that from 2013 to 2017, Mahama’s administration did not hire any nurses after canceling the Nursing Trainees Allowance. Currently, around 100 of the Agenda 111 facilities are operational, with others progressing well.

Dr. Nsiah Asare emphasized that these hospitals will alleviate pressure on the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) by offering various specialized services, including emergency care and multiple wards.
