NPP Publishes 12 Protocol Measures For Special Electoral College Elections On Saturday 26

The Presidential Elections Committee for the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) has issued protocol measures for the Special Electoral College elections slated for Saturday,26^th August,2023 across the 16 regional capitals in the country.

This was contained in a press release entitled “PROTOCOL MEASURES FOR SPECIAL ELECTORAL COLLEGE ELECTIONS ON SATURDAY,AUGUST 26,2023”dated 24^th August,2023 and signed by Mr. William Yamoah,secretary, Presidential Elections Committee.

The statement said the Presidential Elections Committee would like to extend its sincere appreciation to all aspirants, stakeholders, and the public for their invaluable feedback and collaborative efforts throughout the duration of this process. According to the Committee, this cooperative engagement has significantly contributed to fostering positive interactions among the involved parties.

The protocols are as follows;

It is important to reiterate that the Committee has entrusted the entirety of the electoral procedure to the Electoral Commission, with the paramount responsibility of ensuring a transparent,fair,and unfettered election.
Furthermore, the exclusive oversight of security matters rests with the police, and access beyond security perimeters is restricted solely to duly accredited delegates, aspirants, committee members,or their representatives, and agents of the aspirants.
We kindly remind delegates to carry their identification cards and to verify their names at initial security checkpoint.
Moreover,all Regional Executives Committees are kindly requested to suspend any previously planned programs, including but not limited to workshops, training, extended meetings, retreats, residential retreats, or any events involving delegates camping, for the duration of this week until the conclusion of the Electoral College Election.
In adherence to legal protocols, delegates are strongly advised to conform to all electoral laws,regulations,and rules on Saturday,August 26,2023.
We wish to emphasize that capturing images of cast ballot is strictly prohibited and constitutes a breach of electoral regulations, warranting punitive actions.
It is essential to note that publicly displaying cast ballots constitutes a criminal offense.We hereby serve notice that those who violate this provision shall be subjected to legal repercussions in accordance with the Law.Delegates are hereby informed that any cast ballots publicly displayed will be Rejected.Full protocol is attached below
