NPP To Get A ‘Showdown’ In 2024 Elections Over Akufo-Addo’s Statement1 min read

Richard Kojo Elimah, Executive Director, Center for Social Impact Studies has said President Akufo-Addo’s statement that the new leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will take Ghana ‘out of these difficulties’ will have an impact on the chances of the ruling party retaining political power.

Mr Elimah said opposition political parties will use the President’s statement as a campaign tool and it will hurt the NPP.

Contributing to a panel discussion on the Ama Ghana Morning Show on Kumasi based Time FM, Mr Elimah fumed that a leader speaks words of encouragement and not words of discouragement.

He stated that the President’s statement is an admission of failure.
