Nursing Trainee Allowances Set for Disbursement Next Week – Dr. Bawumia1 min read
Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has announced that the long-awaited nursing trainee allowances for 2024 will be disbursed on Thursday, May 16, 2024.
The allowances, which have been pending for months, will be released to nursing and teacher trainees nationwide.
During a large gathering with youth, including nursing and teacher trainees in Nalerigu, North East Region, Dr. Bawumia delivered the news to an enthusiastic audience.
He revealed that the Minister of Finance had confirmed the release of 177 million Ghana Cedis to the Ministry of Health, earmarked for disbursement to nursing trainees.
Amid cheers from the crowd, Dr. Bawumia assured that the allowances would reach the trainees’ accounts by next week. The announcement sparked jubilation among the nurses present, who expressed their appreciation by chanting Dr. Bawumia’s name.
Dr. Bawumia used the opportunity to emphasize the NPP’s commitment to supporting nursing and teacher trainees, contrasting it with the cancellation of these allowances by the previous administration.
He reaffirmed the NPP’s dedication to youth welfare through policies that prioritize their needs, positioning the party as the advocate for trainees and young people.
