The Obaapa Development Foundation, led by Executive Director Nanahemaa Adjoa Awindor, organized a community durbar in Kantikyiren, Atwima Kwanwoma District, to intensify education on menstrual hygiene for girls.

The event, which marked the end of World Menstrual Hygiene Week 2024, included a groundbreaking ceremony and the launch of ODF’s Girls’ Safe Spaces Washroom Project, supported by the District Education Directorate.

Nanahemaa Achiaa Awindor speaking in an interview with mytimefm.com emphasized the importance of menstrual hygiene education, stating that menstruation is a natural transition for girls and should be treated as such, dispelling harmful misconceptions and providing necessary hygiene materials.

District Education Director Mrs. Doris Ofori announced a new policy, ‘the Pad Bank’, to ensure that girls have access to sanitary products at school, preventing mistreatment and infections during their periods.
